We are currently looking for a highly motivated, outstanding candidate for the following position:
Research technician: conducting multi-nuclear magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy experiments to investigate microstructural and metabolic changes in mouse models of disease, in vivo and ex vivo. Previous experience in these areas and background in biochemistry will be prioritized.
The successful applicant will have postdoc level experience and become engaged in our preclinical ultrahigh field MRI research. The Shemesh Lab investigates a diverse range of topics, including MR methodology and physics, neuroscience, and cancer research.
Our current work includes some exciting prospects like imaging brain activity, performing awake / behaving experiments in the MRI scanners, cancer imaging and metabolism, MR microscopy, and development of tailored pulse sequences. The salary will be defined according to Champalimaud Research pay table and to the experience of the candidate.
Shemesh Lab benefits from 16.4 T, 9.4 T, and 1T MRI scanners, including three cryoprobes for imaging ex-vivo tissues, mice, and rats. The Shemesh Lab also harnesses multimodal approaches including intrinsic optical microscopy and calcium recordings.
